The Guthrie Clinic's Robert Packer Hospital anesthesiology residency program seeks a physician scientists anesthesiologist to oversee clinical research activities of residents, medical students and, other faculty.
Position Overview
- Ideally this candidate will either hold a PhD or be a recipient of a research grant.
- The Director will partner with the Guthrie Foundation, the research division of the Guthrie Clinic.
- The Foundation includes research coordinators and statisticians to assist with IRB submissions, obtaining consents, and analyzing data.
- Guthrie's Epic electronic health record and reporting infrastructure facilitates clinical retrospective reviews.
- The Director will help residents and students plan research projects and coordinate timelines for poster and presentation submissions to conferences.
- The Director will also influence the submission of articles to publications, including anesthesiology specialty journals and The Guthrie Journal.
- This anesthesiologist will also be involved with clinical teaching in the operating room several days per week.

Comprehensive Compensation and Benefits
- $575K total compensation
- $25K starting bonus and $25K retention bonus each of following 3 years
- $15K quality/citizenship bonus available yearly
