Shasta Community Health Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join its esteemed team here in Redding as a Clinical Preceptor!

The NP/PA Fellowship Clinical Faculty is a teaching clinician with direct patient care responsibility, also responsible for the management of fellows within the NP/PA Fellowship Program under the direction of the NP/PA Fellowship Program Director. The NP/PA Fellowship Clinical Faculty position is expected to carry a patient panel and provide direct patient care for at least 50% of FTE. Responsible for precepting oversight of panels of the licensed NP/PA fellows in the Fellowship program

Job Details

1. Maintain adequate office hours for fellow consultation and advisement.
2. Coordinate with Program Director, the fellows’ Quality Improvement Project by communicating project expectations, and incremental deadlines.
3. Determine date and time of Quality Improvement Project with Presentations with Program Director.
4. Work at the direction of the Medical Director and Program Director to help develop learning objectives related to clinical practice.
5. Instructional responsibilities include direct patient care with fellows in clinic as required, assessment of fellow outcomes.
6. Assist the Program Director and Medical Director in continuously re-evaluating anticipated educational needs of fellows as requirements of the NP/PA evolve and change.
7. Assist in selection of fellowship candidates.
8. Meet with the Program Director weekly to discuss programmatic issues.

Evaluation

• Assist the Program Director and Medical Director in the development and completion of all program evaluations.

Recruitment

• Assist the Program Director and Medical Director in recruitment activities as assigned.
• Work with the Program Coordinator on recruitment schedules, student rotations, and professional school outreach.

Mentoring

• Meet with fellows on an “as needed” basis to help with problem solving and career counseling.
• Advise fellows on career development.
• Serve as a role model for fellows by maintaining a limited panel of patients and providing clinical care for those patients.
• Make sure Fellows are logging in procedures and meeting deadlines as assigned.
• Provide academic advising and guidance to fellows; manage fellows’ education and performance, including coordination of individual instruction (advising).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Current unrestricted California license as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
2. Minimum 3 years of practice as a provider or graduation from SCHC Postgraduate Fellowship.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical position or graduation from SCHC Postgraduate Fellowship.
4. ACLS certification.
5. Clinical instruction experiences preferred.
