  • A leading national clinical services group is recruiting a board certified psychiatrist to serve as Facility Medical Director at an established 120 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Full time, employed (W2) role with comprehensive benefits and a clear leadership platform.

    THE ROLE

    • Deliver psychiatric care to adult and geriatric inpatients onsite

    • Typical caseload: 12 to 16 inpatient encounters per day

    • Monday through Friday, 8 to 5, with voluntary call rotation

    • Occasional IOP coverage and telemedicine consults as needed

    • Serve as on site Facility Medical Director: partner with hospital administration on quality of care, Joint Commission and CMS regulatory readiness, peer review, and clinical service alignment

    • Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners and collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams

    THE PATIENT POPULATION

    Adults and seniors across a broad acute psychiatric presentation, including mood disorders, anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, bipolar spectrum, psychotic disorders, and concurrent substance use. Joint Commission accredited facility.

    THE COMPENSATION

    • Base salary: $325,000

    • Facility Medical Director stipend: up to $60,000 annually

    • Quality incentive: up to $30,000 annually

    • Nurse Practitioner collaboration: $12,000 per NP supervised, annually

    • CME stipend: $2,000

    • Total comp potential: $415,000 to more than $430,000, depending on FMD scope and NP supervision count

    THE REQUIREMENTS

    • MD or DO

    • Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry (ABPN)

    • Active, unrestricted Indiana medical license (or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact)

    • Indiana DEA registration

    • Inpatient psychiatric experience

    • Interest in or experience with Facility Medical Director responsibilities
