    Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases

    The Primary Care Physician is a member of the Primary Care Service Line and is responsible to the Service Line Manager). A Primary Care Staff Physician is responsible for maintaining professional, technical, and administrative knowledge, competencies, and skills to provide effective, timely and quality responses to patient's health care needs. They are responsible for primary care of a panel of primary care patients. All Physicians comply with credentialing and privileging and required monitoring and evaluation criteria. Physicians maintain high clinical standards that are carried into decision-making processes, and continually strive to maintain and enhance skills, which may include teaching residents and students. Physicians comply with current standards for medical record documentation and residency supervision. Physicians will achieve a satisfactory compliance rate with the established Clinical Reminder, Clinical Performance Measures and Prevention Indicators. The Physician will provide appropriate care for veterans ranging in age from 18 through geriatric years, taking into consideration diagnosis and physical, functional, psychosocial, spiritual and cultural needs, and serves as a resource for nurse practitioners or physician assistants who are also delivering primary care and responds to all staff in the primary care teams regarding patient concerns.

    Work Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm M-F

    Augusta, Maine and the surrounding community of southern and central Maine provide an idealistic and picturesque place to live with beautiful mountains, rivers, ocean, lakes and a plethora of outdoor activities (swimming, boating, skiing, hiking, biking).

    Position requirements include U.S. Citizenship, M.D or D.O, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any state. Board Certified in Family Practice, or Internal Medicine with Family Practice is preferred.

    $240K–$400K

    Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) Eligible: EDRP is a student loan reimbursement program valued at up to $200,000. Eligibility requirements apply.
