Medical Director – Locum-to-Perm Tule River Indian Health Center – Porterville, CA $150/hour | 3 days clinical / 2 days admin

Tule River Indian Health Center is seeking a Medical Director to lead our clinical team and provide patient care in a mission-driven, tribally operated health facility. This locum-to-perm opportunity offers the chance to combine hands-on medicine with strategic leadership.

Schedule:

• 3 days/week providing primary care services
• 2 days/week administrative, leadership, and quality improvement duties

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive outpatient primary care
• Oversee clinical operations, supervise providers, and ensure compliance with IHS, Medi-Cal, and Medicare standards
• Lead quality initiatives and develop measurable improvement metrics
• Collaborate with tribal leadership and community health partners

Requirements:

• MD or DO, Board-Certified/Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active CA license or eligibility to obtain
• Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience, prior leadership preferred
• Experience with quality improvement metrics a plus

Compensation:

• $150/hour
• Locum start with potential to transition to permanent
