Assistant Professor of Clinical - Anesthesiology / General

The Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Pain Management at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine (UMMSOM) is experiencing a period of expansion and is seeking General Anesthesiologists to join their faculty.

Essential Job Functions:

• Perform a wide variety of cases including orthopedics, GYN, community OB, abdominal cases, general vascular, and kidney transplants
• Supervise residents, CRNAs, and SRNAs
• Perform cases on their own if required
• Participate in the academic activities of the department including teaching and mentoring trainees and participating in departmental conferences and faculty meeting
• Call is expected to be 3-4 overnight calls per month (some calls may be from home) There may also be a need for evening and weekend calls.
• Effort distribution may change based on department needs, candidate’s interests, and success in obtaining extramural grant funding

Desired Qualifications:

• MD/DO required
• US approved residency in Anesthesiology or have obtained equivalent training and certification
• Board Eligibility/ Board Certified in Anesthesiology (equivalence to board certification can be determined on a case-by-case basis)
• Research experience, highly desirable
• Limited skills in regional and the ability to anesthetize older children is helpful

Compensation:

• Dependent on years of experience and determination of professorial rank at the time of hiring
