Community Pathologist, Surgical and Cytopathology, Duke Health Integrated Practice

The Community Duke Health Integrated Practice seeks a dynamic pathologist with excellent surgical pathology and cytopathology skills for a full-time position in our Community Pathology practice. The Community Pathology practice is comprised of seven full-time pathologists dedicated to delivering accurate, concise, and timely pathology services to patients and their physicians at Duke Raleigh Hospital and Duke Regional Hospital.
Opportunity:
- We are seeking a new colleague to replace a retiring pathologist and to grow the practice in response to increasing surgical pathology and cytopathology case volume. This position will include opportunities at both Duke Regional Hospital and Duke Raleigh Hospital. You will join a collegial and supportive practice, including experienced PAs, laboratory, and support staff, with opportunities for involvement in laboratory leadership for interested individuals.
- Duke Regional Hospital is a 388-bed acute care hospital serving Durham, Orange, and surrounding counties. Duke Raleigh Hospital, a campus of Duke University Hospital located in Raleigh, North Carolina, has 204 inpatient beds.
- Both hospitals offer a comprehensive array of services and are recognized for compassionate care with distinct centers of clinical excellence, including oncology, providing intellectually challenging and collaborative work environments.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must have an MD or DO degree, a valid NC medical license or qualifications to obtain one, and ABP Board Certification in both Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Cytopathology.
- Ideal candidates will be excellent diagnosticians with superior communication skills who function well in a team setting.
- Demonstrated experience and/or additional training in areas of oncologic surgical pathology, specifically breast and/or head and neck pathology, are preferred.
