  • The Department of Neurology at University of Rochester Medical Center seeks a leader to serve as Chief of Child Neurology and hold the Frederick A. Horner M.D. Distinguished Professor in Pediatric Neurology. This is a unique opportunity to lead New York State’s largest Child Neurology program, guiding clinical care, research, and education across a nationally recognized academic medical center.

    Role Highlights:

    · Lead and grow a multidisciplinary division of 22 faculty physicians serving ~10,000 outpatient visits annually and physician-scientists who attract millions of dollars in national funding and awards for their translational research.

    · Advance innovative therapies for Batten’s disease, KCNT1 epilepsy, TANGO2 disease, and more to ensure faster, flexible, and more efficient clinical trials, especially for rare diseases and gene-based therapies.

    · Mentor trainees in a top-ranked residency program and in subspeciality fellowships that include support from a NINDS-funded T32 training program in Experimental Neurotherapeutics.

    Requirements:

    • Must possess an MD degree or equivalent
    • Must obtain NYS Medical licensure before starting
    • Eligible for a Faculty Appointment at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry
    • Board Certified in Neurology with Special Qualifications in Child Neurology
    • Post offer Drug Screen and Health Assessment required
    • Criminal background check required
    • Compliance with University and New York State health requirements
