Job Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine and Public Health is seeking a neurologist interested in pursuing an academic career in vascular neurology. If appointed on the CHS track, duties will also include teaching and/or research.

Responsibilities:

Primary clinical activities include outpatient stroke clinics and inpatient services at the UW Hospital and William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Hospital. Candidates will provide telestroke consultations with regional partners and have opportunities to staff general neurology services depending on the extent of the candidates teaching and research commitments.

The candidate will participate in department resident, fellow, and medical student education programs. They will teach undergraduates, graduate students, residents, fellows, medical students as well as provide continuing education programs for physicians and the public.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

For appointment at the CHS Track: Duties will either be approximately 80% clinical, 10% extramurally funded research, and 10% teaching or approximately 80% clinical, 20% extramurally funded research, depending on the successful candidate. The successful candidate will participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.

For appointment at the CT Track: Duties will be approximately 90% clinical, 10% teaching, depending on the successful candidate.

Required
Terminal Degree
MD, DO or MD/PhD is required.

Qualifications:

Must have completed neurology residency and have a WI medical license by the time of appointment. Must be ABPN or AOBNP Board eligible or certified in Neurology. Stroke, Neurocritical Care or Neurohospitalist fellowship training or equivalent experience required.

Candidates for Associate Professor (CHS) or Professor (CHS) must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track.

Candidates for Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the Clinician Teacher track.
