Banner Children’s Specialists (BCS) is seeking a full time BC/BE PEDIATRIC SURGEON to join our growing program in the Phoenix Metro Area with a pediatric population of 350,000+. We are seeking a candidate who will provide a wide range of surgical care for premature newborns to 18-year-old adolescents at Banner Desert Medical Center (BDMC). Procedures include full scope of laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, robotic and open surgeries in the cervical, thoracic, and abdominal regions addressing the diseases of the respiratory, digestive, biliary, genitourinary, and dermatologic systems. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in working in a high-volume environment with several index cases.

Our Pediatric Surgery division currently consists of four full time Pediatric Surgeons and ten Advanced Practice Providers.

  • Practice hosts PGY3 residents from UACOMP Integrated Surgical Residency and MS3/MS4 students, opportunity for teaching if desired.
  • In addition to providing comprehensive services at Banner Children’s at Desert pediatric surgical and trauma services we provide inpatient care for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit at Banner – University Medical Center Phoenix and full range of pediatric surgical services but not trauma, at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center
  • Banner Children’s pediatric surgeons participate in a comprehensive, multidisciplinary fetal care program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or eligible in Pediatric Surgery
  • Comprehensive Pediatric General Surgery experience
  • 3-5 years of experience preferred

Banner Children's at Desert Medical Center provides comprehensive pediatric care from general to emergency, as well as services for specific childhood diseases. Highly trained physician specialists, social services staff and numerous integrative therapy programs ensure a complete range of care for children. We have a child-friendly atmosphere accented by soothing colors and dedicated play areas, as well as a volunteer dog therapy program that helps cheer up young patients during their stays.

Banner Children's at Desert Medical Center features 248 beds, specially trained nurses and doctors and family-centered care as well as an expanded Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – from 65 beds to 86 beds.
