  • The Hematopathologist will become a member of the Phoenix Children’s Medical Group and will report to the Division Chief of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

    Ideal Candidate

    • Will be board-certified or board-eligible in Hematopathology.
    • Join a growing diagnostic service with two other staff hematopathologists.
    • Have a special interest in both neoplastic and non-neoplastic hematologic disorders of infants, children, and adolescents.
    • Additional expertise in cytopathology, primary immune deficiency evaluation, and/or minimal residual disease testing is desirable.
    • Although not required, candidates with dual subspecialty board certification are encouraged to apply and would have the opportunity to continue practice in their desired fields.
    • The candidate will be an accomplished pediatric hematopathologist with excellence in clinical and scientific knowledge, teaching ability, scholarship, and leadership.
    • Leadership opportunity is available for a qualified candidate.
    • Case-mix currently includes approximately 750 peripheral blood smears, 550 bone marrow studies, 100 lymph node evaluations, 400 flow cytometric immunophenotyping studies, and 1450 cytology specimens annually.
    • Professionalism, leadership, interpersonal communication skills, adaptability, and a growth mindset are essential.
    • Active involvement in resident, fellow, and medical student teaching through affiliated programs is expected.
