  • Position Summary: The Tele-Neurologist provides expert and compassionate virtual neurological care for hospitalized and emergency department patients through telemedicine platforms. In collaboration with on-site teams, you will help evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with acute neurological conditions, ensuring continuity of care and adherence to evidence-based practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide real-time tele-neurology consults for emergency, ICU, and inpatient settings
    • Assess and diagnose patients with acute neurological conditions (e.g., stroke, seizure, altered mental status, TIA)
    • Collaborate with bedside teams and radiology to review imaging and guide treatment decisions
    • Support stroke alert response and tPA eligibility assessment
    • Participate in proactive rounding, documentation, and case follow-up
    • Utilize EMR and clinical decision tools to deliver timely, high-quality care
    • Engage in virtual collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams to support clinical pathways and protocols

    Requirements:

    • Board-Certification or Board-Eligibility in Neurology
    • Ability to obtain and maintain licensure in multiple states, as required
    • Strong clinical judgment in managing acute neurological emergencies
    • Proficiency in EMR systems and virtual communication platforms
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
    • Reliable high-speed internet connection and appropriate remote work setup
    • Excellent communication skills and proactive engagement with care teams

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Expertise in acute stroke care, including NIH Stroke Scale and tPA protocols
    • Familiarity with tele-neurology platforms and remote diagnostic tools
    • Effective triaging and prioritization of consults in high-acuity settings
    • Strong documentation and case management skills
    • Comfort with interpreting neuroimaging (CT/MRI) in the emergency setting
    • Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous clinical improvement

    Education:

    • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
    • Completed residency in Neurology
    • Fellowship training in vascular neurology (preferred but not required)
    • Active medical licensure or eligibility in relevant service states
