- Base Year: 1 Year
- Option Periods: 4 Additional 1-Year Options (Up to 5 Years Total)
- Facility Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST
- Coverage Requirement: 24/7 / 365 days
- Shift Coverage:
- Up to 2 Anesthesiologists onsite: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- On-call coverage after 3:30 PM through 7:00 AM
- On-Call Response Time:
- Phone: within 15 minutes
- Onsite: within 60 minutes
- Nights, weekends, and federal holidays included
The Anesthesiologist will provide onsite anesthesia services to Veterans at the Dorn VA Healthcare System. Services must be delivered in compliance with VA regulations, medical staff bylaws, and federal healthcare standards. This is a non-personal services federal contract role.
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care for surgical and procedural cases
- Participate in pre-operative evaluations and post-anesthesia care
- Maintain accurate documentation in the VA electronic health record
- Provide on-call anesthesia services as required
- Collaborate with surgeons, nursing staff, and VA clinical teams
- Comply with all VA quality assurance, peer review, and performance standards
- Adhere to patient safety, HIPAA, and VA privacy regulations
- MD or DO
- Board Certified or Board Eligible – American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA)
- Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
- No history of suspension, revocation, or restriction
- BLS and ACLS Certification (current)
- Fluent in English (spoken, written, and comprehension)
- Ability to meet VA credentialing and privileging standards
- Willingness to work on-call, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must comply with:
- Immigration & Nationality Act
- E-Verify requirements
- Federal employment eligibility standards
- VA Credentialing & Privileging (VHA Directives 1100.20 & 1100.21)
- OIG Exclusion Check (Required annually)
- SAM.gov Verification
- CME compliance required and tracked
- No services may begin prior to VA approval
