Outpatient Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Opportunity - Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Wound Care at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital

MedStar is currently seeking a full time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery service line (PRS).The PRS team at MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital is a unique blend of specialists whose combined knowledge creates a multi-disciplinary approach to plastic surgery, podiatric surgery, and wound care. Our Wound Healing Institute, in partnership with MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Franklin Square Hospital, delivers innovative and nationally recognized surgical approaches, the latest healing techniques, and state of the art facilities - together with experienced, compassionate, and comprehensive care providers. We are looking for an Advanced Practice Provider to bring their expertise to complement our well-established and growing team.

There will be opportunities to provide care in the wound center, hyperbarics, and the provider office. Your clinics will consist of patients requiring on-going plastic and/or wound care, as well as pre- and post-operative care. You may also cross-train with APPs providing in-patient hospital care. You will work closely with surgeons and specialists to create appropriate care plans.

Clinicians may ultimately train and specialize in care for specific conditions needed by our patient population. This role also includes the opportunity to become certified in, work in, and clinically manage Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Treatment (HBOT). As a growing program, we offer many opportunities for development and continued medical training.

This position requires the candidate to have wound care and plastic surgery experience.

The shifts for this position would be Monday through Friday, 40 hrs./week during the day and is flexible with scheduling.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education/Training

  • Graduate from a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program approved by the Maryland State Board Examiners of Nurses
  • Experience

  • 2 years’ experience as a provider in an outpatient clinical setting preferred. New Grad applicants with E.R./ Wound Care experience in an RN role are also encouraged to apply.
  • License/Certification/Registration

  • Registration with the Maryland State Board Examiners of Nurses.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills required.

This position has a hiring range of $115,000 - $143,619

Compensation Details

$115-143k

The hiring range is the range MedStar Health, in good faith, believes is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future and actual compensation may vary from posting based on work experience, education and/or skill level, etc. Even within the range, the actual compensation will vary depending on the above factors as well as market/business considerations.
