The University of Minnesota is seeking a Transplant Hepatologist to join our nationally recognized team in the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition. This is a full-time faculty role at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, offering the opportunity to advance academic medicine, grow clinical programs, and shape the future of transplant hepatology.

Your Role:
- Inpatient attending on the liver service at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
- Outpatient liver clinics at our state-of-the-art Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
- Provide consultative services and engage in outreach across the region.
- Develop a clinical research program and actively participate in academic missions.
- Mentor and teach medical students, residents, and GI fellows.
About Us: Our Division features strong clinical and research programs in IBD, esophageal disorders, advanced endoscopy (ERCP/EUS), and functional GI disorders. The hepatology section is home to leaders in liver disease and transplantation, backed by a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Completion of ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine, GI, and Transplant Hepatology training.
- Board certified/eligible in GI and Transplant Hepatology.
- Demonstrated excellence in patient care, teaching, and clinical innovation.
- Eligible for MN medical licensure and DEA.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Total compensation aligned with AAMC benchmarks, including:
- Clinical salary range: $397,000–$435,000, commensurate with experience.

Compensation Details
$397-435k
This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC salary benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with clinical effort, is provided through M Physicians. The base salary range for the clinical effort of this position is $397,000- $435,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications. The additional salary from the University is dependent upon the academic effort of the person hired. M Physicians provides the following benefits: Substantial 401K employer contribution. Well-being program including an annual spending allotment, peer coaching, counseling, and concierge services. Allowance for CME, license, board certification, and DEA fees. Malpractice insurance coverage. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit, we are a qualified employer for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.
