The University of Virginia Department of Anesthesiology seeks a Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology to provide clinical, academic, and operational leadership for pediatric anesthesia services across UVA Health. This physician leader will oversee the delivery of high-quality perioperative care for pediatric surgical and procedural patients while advancing the division’s clinical, educational, and research missions.
The Division Chief will collaborate closely with surgeons, nursing leadership, and procedural teams to optimize pediatric anesthesia care across operating rooms and procedural settings, including pediatric sedation services. The role includes promoting quality and safety initiatives, mentoring faculty, supporting resident education, and fostering scholarly activity within the division. The Division Chief will also help recruit and develop faculty, ensure efficient clinical operations, and represent the division within departmental leadership.
Qualifications
- MD or equivalent degree
- Completion of an Anesthesiology residency and Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship
- Board certified or board eligible in Anesthesiology
- Minimum 3 years of academic faculty experience as a pediatric anesthesiologist
- Demonstrated leadership experience
