In partnership with the University of Arizona, the Division of Pediatric Surgery at Banner - University Medical Group Tucson is actively seeking an outstanding tenure eligible Assistant/Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery to provide a full range of services at its newly built medical center. Candidates must be highly motivated, energetic, self-starters, who will forge collegial and collaborative relationships with the many individuals and services who interact with the Pediatric Surgery division. The Division of Pediatric Surgery is a dynamic environment offering comprehensive and multi-disciplinary surgical and medical care for our patients. Our Surgeons provide the best in patient care, resident and medical student education and training, and extensive community and academic endeavors. This position is an integral part of the women and children service line and offers opportunities to aid in the development and expansion of the fetal surgery clinical and research programs, and support for basic and translation research in the Tucson market.

The Department of Surgery, University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson is seeking outstanding academically minded tenure eligible Pediatric Surgeons. Our children’s surgical team prides itself on providing world-class, comprehensive, and compassionate care for children. The positions offered include opportunities to aid and participate in the development and expansion of the fetal surgery clinical and research programs. This is the only such program in Arizona or the Southwest. In addition to this Fetal Surgery opportunity, there is also an opportunity for a faculty with interest in developing a basic science career. Becoming a part of the existing Pediatric Surgery research program, but with the opportunity to develop one’s own research projects and program using the extensive mentorship, collaborations, and resources available in Pediatric Surgery, the Department of Surgery and the surrounding academic environment of the College of Medicine, University of Arizona undergraduate and graduate programs. Candidates must be highly motivated, energetic, self-starters, who will forge collegial and collaborative relationships with the many individuals and services and researchers who interact with the Pediatric Surgery division.

The selected individual will have the opportunity to develop a full-time clinical practice, educate residents and medical students, and be encouraged to participate in clinical and/or basic science research and fetal surgery. The qualified candidate will receive a faculty appointment at the University of Arizona consistent with their credentials.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or eligible in Pediatric Surgery
  • Evidence of clinical and didactic teaching ability
  • Established expertise in working with diverse patient populations
