As Chief, you will have the tremendous opportunity to guide a dedicated team of faculty and staff who deliver comprehensive, family‑centered care to children and adolescents across Western and Central New York. You will shape the strategic vision for a division poised for continued growth, programmatic expansion, and scientific discovery.

    Key Leadership Opportunities Include:

    • Strengthening a research portfolio with opportunities to build near-term research and quality-improvement activity through collaborations across the University of Rochester’s robust institutional research infrastructure: CTSI with UM1 funding, TrialNet affiliate site.
    • Elevating educational excellence through mentorship of fellows, residents, and medical students in a supportive, learner‑centered environment as well as re-initiate fellowship accreditation once faculty staffing supports it.
    • Fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within the Department of Pediatrics and across URochester Medicine’s integrated health system including an adult endocrine division eager to collaborate on transition clinics, bone health, and potential joint programs.
    • Golisano Children’s Alliance – The Golisano Children’s Alliance, generously funded by entrepreneur, philanthropist, and civic leader Tom Golisano, marks a major milestone in advancing pediatric healthcare. The Alliance unites 15 children’s hospitals across 12 states to share expertise, expand specialized services, and ensure that families have access to exceptional care as close to home as possible.

The ideal candidate will be prioritized on interpersonal fit and program-building leadership capacity with a strong record of clinical achievement, academic productivity, and demonstrated leadership. Candidates should be committed to advancing health equity, supporting faculty development, and cultivating an inclusive, forward‑looking division culture.

URochester Medicine offers a highly collegial environment, competitive compensation, robust institutional support, and the opportunity to live in Rochester—a welcoming, affordable city offering a unique blend of affordability, culture, and community, providing a high quality of life with a lower cost of living than many major metropolitan areas!
