The Renown Medical Group Department of Surgery is searching for an outstanding Thoracic Surgeon to partner in growing the Division of Thoracic Surgery within the Renown Medical Group division of Surgical Oncology and the William N Pennington Cancer Institute.
Under the direction of the Chair of Surgery, the Thoracic Surgeon is expected to be an expert in medical and surgical care for patients diagnosed with benign and oncologic thoracic diseases. The Surgeon will diagnose, treat, and manage malignant and benign Thoracic surgical diseases for patients. Expectation to collaborate with and supervise mid-level providers and can expect to have some involvement with public health education, administration, teaching, and research.
The ideal candidate will be a board-certified Thoracic Surgeon with a minimum of 2 years' experience and have Completed an accredited general surgery residency and a Thoracic surgery fellowship. Incumbents must possess a strong work ethic with a focus on quality. Collegiality is mandatory. This position is non-cardiac, purely thoracic surgery.
The candidate is expected to qualify for an academic appointment with the University of Nevada Reno (UNR) medical School, build and promote a clinical trial portfolio, contribute to the growth of the William N. Pennington Cancer Institute, contribute to the Division of Surgical Oncology, and participate in the educational goals of medical students and residents. They will also attend tumor boards as a contributing physician.

- William N Pennington Cancer Institute offers full-service support and collaboration: 5 Radiation Oncologists, 5 Medical Oncologists, 9 Surgical Oncologists

- Pulmonary Critical Care team offers 24/7 support and collaboration
- Established Pulmonary Rehab program
- Around the clock Anesthesia and perfusion
