Opportunity details

  • This is an excellent opportunity for a fellowship-trained surgeon to join a well-established program while working alongside experienced, tenured staff in a collaborative environment.
  • The candidate is involved in all aspects of thoracic surgery, and support of the Oncology and Gastrointestinal services at our community hospital in the Western Suburbs of Chicago along with partnerships in Southwest Suburbs of Chicago.
  • Candidates should possess strong skills in minimally invasive and open thoracic surgery, including robotic-assisted lung resections.
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary care with pulmonology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, interventional pulmonology, gastroenterology, and radiology.
  • Participate in tumor boards, quality initiatives, and educational activities as desired.
  • Opportunities for teaching residents and fellows and involvement in clinical research are available but not required.
  • Ideal candidate has enthusiasm for joining a growing practice

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Primary clinical location at a community hospital with outreach to affiliated suburban hospital partners.
  • Examine, diagnose and treat or prescribe course of treatment and surgery for patients with injuries or disorders with surgical conditions, and perform required surgery
  • 100% Thoracic position
  • Call is shared with 1-in-4 week call with current 4 surgeons.
  • Da Vinci robot is available at all locations
  • APP support in clinic, surgery, and rounding
  • Critical Care support - 24/7

Qualifications:

  • Interested candidates must be board certified/board eligible in Thoracic Surgery; accepting new graduates
  • Current fellows and experienced thoracic surgeons are encouraged to apply.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois.

Compensation Details

$520K–$775K

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
