Job Summary:

We are seeking a Staff Physician – Thoracic Surgery to join Norton Thoracic Surgery in Louisville, Kentucky. This opportunity offers the chance to work with a highly collaborative adult-service practice and contribute to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering advanced thoracic surgical care. The position is ideal for a physician who values teamwork, clinical excellence, and the opportunity to practice in a well-supported environment. The compensation range for this role is $600,000–$750,000.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality thoracic surgical care to adult patients
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, thoracic surgeons, advanced practice providers, and support staff
• Participate in multidisciplinary care planning and lung clinic workflows
• Evaluate and manage patients across the surgical continuum of care
• Support quality improvement and performance-based care initiatives
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
• Work closely with referring providers and care teams to ensure coordinated patient care
• Contribute to a patient-centered, team-based practice culture

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Board certified or board eligible in Thoracic Surgery
• Eligible for medical licensure in Kentucky
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting
• Preferred candidates are typically within one to two years of training or practice experience, consistent with the posting’s preference for early-career physicians.
