Excellent FT Non Invasive Cardiologist Opportunity at the Oklahoma City VA, OKC, OK

The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is actively recruiting a board-certified, board-eligible full-time permanent hospital employed Cardiologist to join our Cardiology department. The Cardiology Physician is accountable to the Chief of Cardiology Service. The Cardiologist participates in inpatient and outpatient care related to cardiovascular diseases at the OKC VA, including outpatient diagnostic testing and non-invasive procedures. Additional responsibilities include but not limited to calls and residents/fellow education and training, and preceptorship to APRNs and PAs. Candidates will have experience and training in advanced heart failure management, novel advanced pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities. Candidates will apply national and VA guidelines to patient screening, surveillance, and management of cardiovascular diseases.
Additional duties include
- Attending required staff meetings, communicating up and down the chain of command, and helping prepare heads-up and issue briefs related to adverse patient outcomes.
- Clinical Management including indirect patient care: open encounter and open consult maintenance, CPRS documentation requirements, monitoring of clinic management. Maintains involvement in matters concerning clinic productivity, relevant performance measures, Quality and Patient Safety oversight, as well as process improvements (system redesigns).
- Patient Care: Practitioners are expected to provide patient care that is compassionate, appropriate, and effective for the promotion of health, prevention of illness, treatment of disease, and care at the end of life.
- Medical/Clinical Knowledge: Practitioners are expected to demonstrate knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical, and social sciences, and the application of their knowledge to patient care and the education of others.
- Clinical Judgment: To ensure practice-based learning and improvement, practitioners are expected to be able to use scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Practitioners are expected to demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills that enable them to establish and maintain professional relationships with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.

The OCVAMC is located in Oklahoma City, OK and is the flagship for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System (OCVAHCS) - a Joint Commission-accredited, referral level 1b (medium complexity) facility. The Cardiology department serves patients across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care for more than 70,000 veterans in an area that includes 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work Schedule.
Full-time, Monday-Friday 08:00-4:30
U.S. Citizens receive preference. Non-U.S. Citizens may be considered.
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Board Certified in Cardiology preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. Additional board certification in Internal Medicine is preferred.

Compensation Details
