The Sands Constellation Heart & Vascular Institute at Rochester General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Intensivist to join our growing multidisciplinary cardiovascular critical care team within a tertiary care cardiac program.
This physician will play an integral role in the management of high-acuity cardiac patients within a dedicated Medical Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), working collaboratively with Advanced Heart Failure, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Electrophysiology specialists.

Clinical Responsibilities
The Cardiac Intensivist will provide comprehensive critical care management for patients with complex cardiovascular disease, including:
- Cardiogenic shock
- Acute decompensated heart failure
- Acute coronary syndromes
- Severe arrhythmias
- Hemodynamic instability and multisystem critical illness
Additional responsibilities include:
- Co-managing critically ill cardiovascular patients alongside Advanced Heart Failure specialists
- Participating as a core member of the multidisciplinary shock response team
- Managing advanced temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support devices, including Impella and LVAD support
- Supervising and teaching Cardiology fellows, residents, and multidisciplinary clinical teams
- Performing and supervising bedside critical care procedures, including:
- Central venous catheter placement
- Arterial line placement
- Pulmonary artery catheterization
- Intubation
- Bronchoscopy
Schedule & Practice Structure
- 7 days on / 7 days off rotating schedule
- Dedicated CICU service structure
- Daily collaboration with Cardiology fellows and resident physicians
- Focused inpatient critical care responsibilities
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, or Emergency Medicine
- Completion of fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine or combined Cardiology/Critical Care training
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted New York State medical license
- Prior experience in a high-acuity Cardiac or Cardiothoracic ICU environment preferred

Compensation Details
$500K–$600K
**PAY RANGE:** $500,000.00 - $600,000.00 *The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience,* *clinical licensure date*, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
