    Norton Children’s, affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, is seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join its nationally recognized and rapidly growing pediatric cardiovascular program in Louisville, Kentucky.

    This opportunity offers the chance to work within Kentucky’s only comprehensive pediatric heart surgery, heart failure, and transplant program, delivering advanced anesthetic care for complex congenital and pediatric cardiac procedures. Physicians will collaborate with a highly specialized multidisciplinary team while contributing to innovation and excellence in pediatric cardiovascular care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide anesthetic care for pediatric patients undergoing complex cardiovascular procedures
    • Deliver anesthesia services for:
      • More than 230 pediatric heart surgeries annually
      • Heart transplant procedures
      • Nearly 400 cardiac catheterizations each year
      • Approximately 126 electrophysiology procedures annually
    • Support advanced congenital heart surgery and mechanical circulatory support procedures, including:
      • Complex congenital heart repairs
      • Left ventricular assist device (LVAD) placement
      • Pediatric heart transplantation
    • Collaborate closely with pediatric cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and specialized cardiovascular teams
    • Participate in perioperative planning and postoperative cardiac critical care coordination
    • Provide care within the Jennifer Lawrence Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, featuring:
      • 17 private CICU rooms
      • Advanced cardiovascular monitoring
      • Specialized care environments for neonates through adolescents
    • Contribute to innovation and advancement in pediatric cardiovascular medicine
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, mentorship, and multidisciplinary collaboration

    Qualifications:

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
    • Completion of residency and fellowship training in anesthesiology/pediatric cardiac anesthesiology
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Anesthesiology
    • Kentucky medical license or license eligible
    • Strong commitment to multidisciplinary pediatric cardiovascular care
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, and clinical decision-making skills

    Practice Highlights:

    • $100,000 sign-on bonus
