Anesthesiologist | Flexible Schedule + 9 Weeks PTO | $500K + $60K Sign On Bonus

Job Summary: Centra Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General or Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join a collaborative and highly respected anesthesia team in Lynchburg, Virginia. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide anesthesia care across a broad range of surgical specialties including general, cardiac, OB, ortho, neuro, thoracic, and more
• Supervise CRNAs in a 3:1 care team model while also performing approximately 30% of own cases • Participate in call rotation (approximately 4–6 calls per month with rare callback) • Deliver OB anesthesia coverage during daytime shifts (no OB night shifts) • Collaborate closely with surgeons and care teams to ensure high-quality patient outcomes • Provide coverage across two hospital locations (4 miles apart) • Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR • Engage in teaching, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Completion of an anesthesia residency program (AMA-approved or equivalent)
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
• Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Approximately 9 weeks of vacation (224 hours PTO)
• Balanced call schedule with minimal callbacks
• Daytime OB shifts only (10-hour shifts, no night OB)
• Team-based model with strong surgeon and CRNA collaboration
• Case mix includes both bread-and-butter and complex cases
