    Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Senior Research Pathologist to support the pathology (anatomic and molecular) programs within the Sloan Precision Oncology Institute. This role focuses on solid tumor anatomic pathology, molecular diagnostics, and advancing precision oncology research across Fred Hutch. 

    Responsibilities 

    • Lead and maintain a research pathology core, supporting institute-wide studies 
    • Assess tissue specimens and support biobanking with clinical and molecular annotation 
    • Interpret immunohistochemistry and molecular pathology assays 
    • Provide pathology expertise for precision oncology research projects 
    • Contribute to the rapid autopsy program within the Fred Hutch/UW/Seattle Children’s Cancer Consortium 
    • Collaborate with investigators across Fred Hutch and pursue independent research interests 

    Qualifications 

    Required: 

    • MD or equivalent 
    • Residency in anatomic or laboratory medicine (U.S. or international) 
    • 5+ years of experience in anatomic pathology (clinical, academic, or industry) 

    Preferred: 

    • Oncology-focused pathology expertise 
    • Experience with autopsy procedures 
    • Proficiency with immunohistochemistry and molecular techniques (PCR, NGS, clinical genomics) 
    • Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills 
    • Additional experience in mouse models, human immunology, or clinical genomics is a plus
