City of Hope Medical Group Seeks a Molecular Genomic Pathologist to join our Growing Team.
Join one of the top cancer centers in the nation! Our rapidly expanding, nationally recognized cancer institute seeks to hire a full-time academic Molecular Genomic Pathologist at the Assistant/Associate level within Department of Pathology to join City of Hope in Duarte, CA. Position Highlights:
The successful candidate will serve as a faculty clinician in the Division of Molecular Pathology and Therapy Biomarkers, with primary clinical, educational, and scholarly responsibilities in the Clinical Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory (CMDL), a core diagnostic laboratory within the City of Hope Clinical Molecular Genomics and Cytogenomics (CMGCL) CLIA Laboratory. The faculty member will work collaboratively with a diverse and nationally recognized team of physicians, pathologists, scientists, and laboratory professionals to advance excellence in genomic diagnostics, translational research, education, and patient-centered care.
The Clinical Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, located at Rivergrade within the Molecular Pathology, Genomics, and Cytogenomics CLIA Laboratory, is a high-volume, state-of-the-art program performing more than 39,000 moderate to high complexity molecular tests annually across solid tumors and hematologic malignancies.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education / Work Experience
- Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
- Board eligible or board certified in Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP) or Molecular Genomic Pathology.
- Board certified in Anatomic Pathology and/or Clinical Pathology (AP/CP preferred) through the American Board of Pathology.
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the State of California.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in or directing a clinical Molecular Genomic Pathology laboratory is preferred. Exceptionally qualified candidates with fellowship training and demonstrated academic potential will also be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board certified in Molecular Genetic Pathology (MGP) by the American Board of Pathology.
- Additional fellowship training and/or board certification in Hematopathology, Cytogenetics, Clinical Informatics, or related disciplines is desirable.
- More than two (2) years of faculty experience in an academic molecular pathology program.
- Experience with translational research, Institutional Review Board (IRB) protocols, grant-supported research, and advanced molecular genomics methodologies, including whole-genome sequencing, optical genome mapping, CytoScan, OncoScan, and other genome-wide array technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans for program growth, test utilization, laboratory integration, and expansion of molecular diagnostic services.
- Record of scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications, translational research, grant funding, or clinical trial support.
- Experience mentoring residents, fellows, graduate students, or junior faculty.

Compensation Details
$310K–$480K
Position Benefits: * Excellent benefits package, including a generous retirement contribution plan. * Relocation assistance may be available. * Base Salary Range: $310k to $480k. *The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits.
