The successful candidate will provide high-quality diagnostic services in anatomic and clinical pathology, supporting our comprehensive medical center and centers of excellence in cancer, cardiology, orthopedics, and neuroscience. eisenhowerhealth.org

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform gross and microscopic evaluation of surgical pathology specimens, including complex cancer cases.

    • Provide expert interpretation of cytopathology (GYN and non-GYN), including fine needle aspirations.

    • Conduct intraoperative frozen section consultations and rapid on-site evaluations as needed.

    • Participate in clinical pathology services, including oversight of laboratory testing, quality assurance, and multidisciplinary tumor boards.

    • Collaborate with clinicians, surgeons, oncologists, and other specialists to deliver accurate and timely diagnoses that directly impact patient care.

    • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, teaching (residents/fellows if applicable), and laboratory accreditation/compliance (CAP, CLIA, etc.).

    Qualifications

    Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

    Licensure: Current or eligible for a full, unrestricted California medical license.

    Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anatomic Pathology (AP) and/or Clinical Pathology (CP) by the American Board of Pathology. Subspecialty fellowship training or experience (e.g., surgical pathology, cytopathology, hematopathology, breast/GYN, GI, etc.) is preferred and welcomed.

    • Strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative team-oriented approach.

    • Experience with digital pathology or molecular techniques is a plus.

    $350K–$395K
