  • Ochsner Health Regional and Acute Pain Medicine Program provides an incredibly unique experience, as we are located in the historical city of New Orleans, which is one of the most exciting and vibrant cities in America. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive perioperative pain management experience that can be applied to many different clinical settings. Our one-year fellowship includes mastering ultrasound, regional techniques, as well as perioperative and acute on chronic pain management. Our team of 7 regional experts cover patients at tertiary care centers as well as an ambulatory surgery center, performing over 6,000 regional blocks a year!

    1. Staff will rotate at our orthopedic specialty hospital as well as our tertiary-care referral hospital locations. In addition to supervising residents and fellows, staff will perform many of their own regional block procedures.
    2. The Department of Anesthesiology includes 70 anesthesiologists, 100 CRNA’s, and >45 house staff, with an annual case volume of >52,000.
