Overview

Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in central New York, and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University, is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join our staff. Visa Sponsorship Available.

Bassett Healthcare Network is an integrated health care system that provides care and service to people living in an eight county region covering 5,600 square miles in Central New York.  The organization includes five corporately affiliated hospitals, as well as skilled nursing facilities, community and school-based health centers, and health partners in related fields.

Job Description & Responsibilities

·         Join an established group of 4 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists

·         Current need is for high volume cataract surgeon-general ophthalmologist

·         Currently there are specialists in medical retina, pediatrics and glaucoma. Sub-specialty interest in glaucoma, oculoplastic, cornea and cataract surgery would be welcome

·         The support staff is well trained and experienced in both the clinic and operating room 

·         On call is every 5th weekend and rarely busy

·         Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000 plus performance-based compensation. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards

·         Bassett offers Physicians an incentive plan with no earnings cap.  Individual performance and productivity can significantly enhance compensation with potential upside realized within the first year of employment

·         Residency stipend up to $40,000 for up to 18 months prior to graduation

·         Sign-on Bonus up to $100,000

·         Group Employed Model

Job Qualifications

·         MD, DO or MBBS

·         Board Eligible or Board Certified

·         NYS Licensure

·         BLS Certification Required
