The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center has an immediate opening for a full-time, board-certified/board-eligible Pulmonologist in Pulmonary/Critical Care. The Shreveport-Bossier City area is home to Barksdale Air Force Base, as well as numerous colleges and universities, theaters, lakes, golf courses, beautiful housing areas, churches, and great schools. You'll enjoy a unique combination of two great American heritages: a little Cajun, and since we're less than 15 minutes from the Texas border, a little Lone Star, too. Candidates must be highly motivated, team-oriented, and committed to the care and good health of our Veterans. The Overton Brooks VA Medical Center is fully dedicated to providing top-quality medical care by serving and honoring America's Veterans.
Highlights of this position include:
- Potential starting base salary: $240,000 - $385,000
- Daily schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30pm; On-call as required
- Position involves inpatient and outpatient Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care Medicine
- Education responsibilities for Pulmonary/Critical Care fellows, Internal Medicine residents and medical students
- Full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery from any U.S. State
Additional requirements:
- Board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary and Critical Care

Compensation Details
$240-385k
* We offer:* * Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Assistance with payment of outstanding medical school loans, up to $200K over 5 years, if approved. * Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) * Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA * CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) * Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting If interested, please email a copy of your current CV to me to schedule a time to discuss this exciting opportunity!
