Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Department of Thoracic Surgery is seeking an Interventional Pulmonologist at the Assistant or Associate level to join a growing, innovative lung cancer program. This is an opportunity to practice the full spectrum of interventional pulmonary medicine while working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment focused on improving outcomes for patients with thoracic malignancies and complex pulmonary conditions.
You’ll join an established program alongside an experienced interventional pulmonologist and work closely with thoracic surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and pulmonology specialists. This role is ideal for a physician who enjoys procedural work, multidisciplinary collaboration, and advancing care through research and innovation. 💙🫁
What You’ll Do
Clinical Care & Procedures 🩺 • Perform a wide range of interventional pulmonary procedures, including: Rigid bronchoscopy, Tumor ablation, Airway stenting, Pleuroscopy • Utilize advanced technologies, including robotic-assisted bronchoscopy and catheter-based tumor ablation • Diagnose and manage benign pulmonary conditions such as: • Advanced emphysema (bronchoscopic lung volume reduction) • Interstitial lung disease (lung cryobiopsy) • Provide lung cancer screening and general pulmonary care
Clinical Practice Structure 📅 • Manage outpatient pulmonary clinics • Two dedicated procedural days in a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite • Participate in inpatient consults • Optional critical care coverage, depending on interest
Research & Innovation 🔬 • Participate in clinical and translational research • Contribute to clinical trials and innovative procedural approaches • Opportunities for leadership in research initiatives
Education & Mentorship 🎓 • Teach and supervise pulmonary fellows from the University at Buffalo • Contribute to an academic environment focused on learning and growth
What You’ll Bring • Board certified or board eligible in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine • Eligibility for New York State medical licensure • Eligibility for or diplomate status in the Association of Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology • Experience or interest in interventional pulmonary procedures • Commitment to multidisciplinary, patient-centered care • Interest in teaching, research, and academic medicine

Compensation Details
$275K–$500K
