Position Overview
Beebe Healthcare is seeking a dynamic, Board-Certified Family Medicine Residency Core Faculty Physician to join our innovative, ACGME-accredited residency program. In close collaboration with the Program Director (PD) and fellow faculty, you will directly shape, build, and grow this robust program. This role balances clinical excellence with academic leadership, serving as a resident mentor and supervisor.
Candidates must practice full-spectrum family medicine (outpatient, inpatient, pediatrics, and women's health). Family Medicine Obstetrics (FMOB) is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Graduate Medical Education & Resident Training (ACGME Compliance)
- Shape program development by creating, assessing, and innovating required and elective residency curriculum design.
- Precept resident physicians in the outpatient Family Medicine Clinic, serving as a full-spectrum clinical role model.
- Serve as an attending physician on Family Medicine hospital rounds, dedicating time to rigorous bedside teaching.
- Maintain ACGME compliance by ensuring all training standards, metrics, and Review Committee (RC) requirements are met.
- Deliver academic lectures and regularly attend scheduled residency conferences and didactics throughout the year.
- Mentor assigned residents as a faculty advisor, overseeing professional milestones, evaluations, and problem-solving.
- Complete timely evaluations of residents across both outpatient office and inpatient hospital settings.
- Drive residency recruitment by participating in interviewing, selection, and ranking prospective candidates.
- Produce scholarly activity and collaborate on research, quality improvement, or scholarly projects with residents.
- Fulfill RC requirements by maintaining a personal level of academic scholarship and professional publishing/presentation.
Clinical & Patient Care (Full-Spectrum)
- Deliver full-scope patient care across all settings, spanning newborns, pediatrics, women's health, and adult medicine.
- Manage a personal patient panel while simultaneously supervising resident physicians in outpatient and inpatient clinics.
- Perform common procedures natively falling within the clinical scope of Family Medicine.
- Lead inpatient rounds and participate in shared night call and weekend call rotations for the practice and residency.
- Engage in quality assurance (QA), peer review projects, and all institutional practice policies.
Community Leadership & Administrative Duties
- Advance community health through local engagement, outreach, and public health initiatives representing the residency.
- Serve on medical committees and represent the residency program in national, state, and local medical organizations.
- Champion institutional values by aligning all behaviors with Beebe Healthcare’s high standards of clinical excellence.
Position Qualifications
Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Board Certification: Active Board Certification via the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
Licensure: Current (or eligible to obtain) unrestricted Medical Licensure in the State of Delaware.
Clinical Scope: Proven competence in full-spectrum care. Family Medicine Obstetrics (FMOB) experience highly preferred.
Experience: Documented clinical, educational, and administrative experience within an academic or residency setting.
