Primary Care Physician | Small-Town Charm, Big Impact – Sumter, South Carolina

MUSC Health – Oak Hill Medical Park is seeking a Primary Care Physician (MD/DO) trained in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine to join a well-established practice in Sumter, South Carolina. You’ll work alongside an experienced family medicine physician and nurse practitioner to deliver comprehensive care to patients in a close-knit, rural community.

This role offers the opportunity to quickly build your patient panel while practicing within MUSC Health’s robust primary care network—one that prioritizes team-based care, provider wellness, and innovative tools designed to reduce administrative burden and enhance clinical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality outpatient care to patients of all ages (Family Medicine) or adults (Internal Medicine).
• Perform comprehensive evaluations, preventive care, chronic disease management, and minor procedures as appropriate.
• Collaborate with advanced practice providers and clinical staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Utilize MUSC Health’s customized Epic EHR and Nuance DAX Copilot technology to streamline workflows.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, continuing education, and community health programs.
• Maintain compliance with all MUSC Health and regulatory standards.

Work Environment & Schedule:

• Outpatient practice setting with a dedicated Certified Medical Assistant.
• Monday–Friday schedule with one half-day administrative block per week.
• Shared minimal call responsibilities.
• Average of 20–25 patients per day.
• Lab and point-of-care testing onsite for convenience and continuity of care.
