 The James Mountain Inhofe Veterans Affairs Medical Center (JMIVAMC) is actively recruiting for a Certified Nurse Anesthetist to help care for our Veterans – American's Heroes. We have opportunities for involvement with the education and teaching of residents, medical students, and other providers. EOVAHCS consists of two ambulatory care centers, a tertiary care facility, and 8 community-based outpatient clinics. EOVAHCS serves Veterans residing in multiple counties throughout the Eastern Oklahoma region. There are 55,000 Veterans in the EOVAHCS service area. The Certified Nurse Anesthetist will support the new hospital currently under construction, named James Mountain Inhofe VA Medical Center, in Tulsa, OK, in 2026. This presents a fantastic urban opportunity for an experienced or new Certified Nurse Anesthetist seeking a better work-life balance. The surgery department and facility promote collaboration and provide opportunities for professional growth as we serve the Veterans who have served us.

Highlights of this position include:

Competitive Starting Salary $178,000 - $259,055

Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, Full-time

Occasional travel - Travel will be required between Tulsa and Muskogee facilities for this position.

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist provides direct patient care under the Anesthesiologist and/or the Surgery Service Chief. The incumbent is a licensed independent practitioner responsible for the anesthetic management of patients to be rendered unconscious or insensitive to pain and emotional stress during surgical, dental, and certain medical procedures, including perioperative, intraoperative, and postoperative monitoring, evaluation, and treatment.

CRNAs perform their own regional pain block, spinals, arterial lines, and central venous catheters.

  • U.S. Citizenship: non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must possess current, active, and unrestricted Licensure
  • Must possess current and active AANA Certification as a CRNA

Contract buyout program: VHA Contract Buy Out Program: This position may be eligible for the Physician / Provider Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP), which authorizes VHA to buy out service contracts (Locum agreements, loan repayments, sign-on bonus contracts, Physician-owned practices) in exchange for employment at certain rural or highly rural facilities for a period of obligated service (minimum 4 years).
