General Surgeon | Competitive Base + Bonuses | Robotics Program with Da Vinci 5

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and collaborative General Surgeon to join a thriving, well-supported surgical program in Southern California. This high-volume team of ten surgeons provides a broad spectrum of general and minimally invasive procedures within a modern, resource-rich environment. With multiple surgeons approaching retirement, the incoming physician will step into immediate case volume, strong mentorship, and a forward-thinking leadership culture dedicated to innovation and surgeon satisfaction.

This position offers access to one of the region’s largest robotic fleets—including six Da Vinci 5 robots and a single-port system—supported by dedicated robotics staff, efficient OR workflows, and flexible scheduling designed to maximize productivity and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a broad mix of general and minimally invasive surgical procedures
• Manage a busy surgical practice with immediate access to volume
• Participate in a 1:12 call rotation with flexible scheduling and strong NP support
• Utilize advanced robotic platforms including Da Vinci 5 and SP systems
• Collaborate with dedicated robotics program staff, surgical techs, anesthesia, and OR teams
• Maintain accurate documentation in Epic EMR
• Contribute to quality improvement, departmental initiatives, and surgical leadership efforts
• Mentor and collaborate with residents or APPs as appropriate

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery
• Valid and unrestricted California medical license (or ability to obtain)
• Strong interest in robotics and minimally invasive surgery
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to team-based care
• Ability to manage a high-volume practice in a modern surgical environment

Work Environment & Practice Structure:

• Immediate case volume with surgeons currently averaging 300–700 cases/year
• 17 ORs total: 11 inpatient, 6 outpatient, plus hybrid OR
• Daily “add-on” OR with robotic capability
• Dedicated robotics manager, specialty techs, and RN support
• Fast turnover metrics: 35 minutes (inpatient) | 20 minutes (outpatient)
• Robust ancillary resources: Epic EMR, anesthesia support, environmental staff
• Compensation: Competitive base salary + bonuses + $1,250 call stipend per call day
