  • Join a thriving, modern Critical Access Hospital with an established and well-supported surgical program. McKenzie Health is seeking a Full-Time General Surgeon to join our collaborative medical team in providing high-quality surgical care to our growing regional population.

    Scope of Practice Provide a full range of bread-and-butter rural general surgery, including:Supportive and positive workplace culture serving a grateful rural community

    • Established Practice: Supported by a team of seasoned part-time surgeons who share coverage, allowing an average schedule of approximately 21 days per month.

    Critical Access Hospital

    • Practice with dedicated clinic space, block OR schedule, and 24/7 hospitalists who admit and follow post-surgical patients.
    • Skilled Team & Advanced Technology: Experienced OR staff, full-time respiratory therapy department, and state-of-the-art surgical and endoscopy equipment.
    • Strong Referral Network: Referrals from a robust team of family medicine physicians and mid-level practitioners through our Rural Health Clinic and seven-day-a-week Walk-In Clinic and Urgent Care.
    • Collaborative Environment: Supportive administration, active marketing team, and collegial medical staff offering multiple specialty services including Cardiology, Dialysis/Nephrology, Emergency Medicine, ENT, Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Oncology, Orthopedics (General, Sports, and Total Joint), Pain Management, Pulmonology, and Urology.
    • Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, hemorrhoids
    • Bowel obstruction/resection, foreign body removal, lesion excision
    • Routine endoscopy and colonoscopy
    • (Additional interest in GERD treatment and/or wound care is highly desirable)
    • Excellent schools, new recreation and fitness facilities, and strong community spirit
    • Partnerships with area trade schools and colleges
    • Regional airport with multiple daily flights to Denver, Las Vegas, and Minneapolis
    • Easy access to Theodore Roosevelt National Park, the Medora Performing Arts town, and exceptional outdoor recreation — including hunting (grouse, pheasant, deer, elk), hiking, boating, and golf
    • Lake Sakakawea offers outstanding Walleye fishing both summer and winter!

    Compensation Details

    $550-650k

    · Annual Salary: $550,000 – $650,000 (46 weeks/year) · Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance · Mortgage / Rent Assistance & Home Purchase Program (5-year commitment) · CME, License, DEA, Board Fees Paid or Reimbursed · 403(b) with 6% employer match · Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision · Optional Life, Disability, Accident, Cancer, and Hospitalization Plans ---
