Overview

AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) is seeking a dynamic Radiation Oncologist with proton therapy expertise to join our premier cancer program in Orlando and Lake Nona. This physician will play a pivotal role in developing proton therapy services across Central Florida while building a high-quality, patient-centered practice.

The successful candidate will collaborate with AdventHealth Cancer Institute leadership, multidisciplinary oncology teams, and community physicians to support the launch of the AdventHealth Cancer Institute Proton Program. They will also join a collaborative team of more than 30 radiation oncologists and advanced practice providers delivering state-of-the-art, evidence-based care across the region.

Candidate Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology with experience in proton therapy and clinical operations
  • Leadership experience / training strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of post-training experience preferred.
  • Eligible for an active Florida medical license
  • Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a strong focus on patient-centered care
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships

Opportunity Highlights

  • Full-time clinical role providing adult generalist radiation services for oncologic and benign disease with opportunity for disease site specialization
  • Shared call responsibilities across the Central Florida practice group once every 8-10 weeks, with call coverage assigned on a weekly basis.
  • Primary practice location at AdventHealth Cancer Institute and Lake Nona with leadership responsibilities supporting growth and development of proton therapy services.
  • Aria and EPIC medical record systems with AI documentation support
  • Both hospital-based clinics with new installation Varian TrueBeam and VisionRT. Cancer Institute also includes dedicated Theranostics clinic and MR sim within department as well as currently available GammaKnife, GammaTIle, and MR-guided brachytherapy
  • Employed dosimetry and physics staff, full-time social work, nutrition, genetics, and health and wellbeing ancillary patient support.
  • Dedicated departmental research team supported through R01 funded AdventHealth Research Institute
