The Penn State Health Department of Radiation Oncology invites applications for a full-time academic radiation oncologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to join our expanding faculty.  The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at Penn State College of Medicine and provide clinical services at both the Penn State Cancer Institute (Hershey, PA) and the newly constructed Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center (Enola, PA).

 

This unique position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered cancer care across two thriving practice sites, while also engaging in academic activities including teaching, research and quality initiatives across both an academic cancer center and a regional community-based hospital.

 

Responsibilities would include providing comprehensive radiation oncology care and engaging in multidisciplinary cancer care and tumor boards at both practice sites, and participation in research and scholarly activities supported by Penn State Cancer Institute, including both cooperative group and investigator-initiated clinical trials. Multiple disease subsite specializations are available, including brachytherapy.

The Institute’s radiation oncology program is accredited by the American College of Radiology, and the outpatient program is also now certified by Quality Oncology Practice Initiative through the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Oncology practice sites include the Penn State Cancer Institute at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Children’s Hospital, Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center, Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, and Hampden Medical Center, in Enola, Pa.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MD, DO, or foreign equivalent medical degree
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a team-based approach to care
  • Completion of accredited training program
  • Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
  • BC/BE in radiation oncology
