Radiation Oncologist to join the Fond du Lac Cancer Center in Wisconsin
Join a collaborative, multi-specialty physician group with surgical oncology and medical oncology partners, plus an established radiation oncology team.
Position Highlights:
- Practice in a newly expanded cancer center with Commission on Cancer and QOPI accreditations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and weekly Radiation Oncology peer review.
- Work within a system that emphasizes care pathways and robust quality assurance measures aligned with ACR recommendations.
- Provide comprehensive radiation oncology care, including new patient consultations, follow-up visits, on-treatment management, and survivorship transitions as appropriate.
- Develop and oversee radiation treatment plans and safely deliver therapy in collaboration with physics, dosimetry, nursing, and therapy teams.
- Perform and interpret CT simulation; supervise treatment set-up and image guidance as clinically indicated.
- Collaborate across the cancer program through tumor boards, peer review, and coordinated care with referring providers.
- Support quality, safety, and documentation standards within EPIC/ARIA workflows.
- Typical volumes include approximately 6–8 consults per week, 10–15 follow-up visits, and a panel of roughly 15–20 patients on treatment, along with CT simulations and new starts based on schedule.
- Call: approximately 1:6, rotating weekly (primarily phone), with occasional emergent weekend treatment needs; weekend call is described as light.
Technology & capabilities:
- Radiation therapy platform: Two Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators
- Simulation & planning: CT simulation, Eclipse
- Systems: ARIA and EPIC EMR
- Treatment modalities: 3D conformal RT, electron therapy, IMRT/VMAT, IGRT, SBRT, SGRT, SRS (as applicable)
- Clinic space: 4 exam rooms
This employed position includes a comprehensive compensation package. Highlights include a 2-year income guarantee with the opportunity for productivity/incentive compensation (wRVU-based).
