The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a full-time BC/BE Neonatologist to join our growing academic faculty in downtown Chicago, IL.

Our state-of-the-art, 72-bed, single-family-room Level III+ NICU serves as a regional referral center caring for extremely premature infants, medically complex surgical newborns, and infants with complex congenital anomalies. Working alongside an outstanding Maternal-Fetal Medicine service and multidisciplinary Fetal-Neonatal Medicine Center, we provide coordinated prenatal consultation and comprehensive care for families facing the most challenging fetal diagnoses.

• Deliver outstanding evidence-based care for critically ill newborns in a high-acuity academic NICU
• Teach and mentor pediatric residents, medical students, nurse practitioner students, and multidisciplinary learners
• Participate in a physician-led quality improvement and patient safety program with nationally recognized expertise and consistently excellent Vermont Oxford Network outcomes
• Collaborate closely with Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatric Cardiology, Genetics, Neurology, and numerous pediatric subspecialists in caring for medically complex infants

Position Details

• Provide direct patient care for critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, NICU Developmental Follow Up Clinic and Fetal-Neonatal Medicine Center
• Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and advanced practice learners
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to exceptional patient care, learner education, and advancing the field of neonatal medicine
• Participate actively in divisional quality improvement, patient safety, education, research, and multidisciplinary clinical initiatives
• Collaborate with Obstetrics, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, and pediatric subspecialists to provide comprehensive prenatal and neonatal care
• Eligible for faculty appointment at Rush Medical College at a rank commensurate with experience and accomplishments

Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required
• Eligible to be licensed to practice Medicine in the state of Illinois required
• Completion of an accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
• Willing and able to travel between clinical locations to serve our growing patient population
