  • The Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical School and University of Minnesota Physicians (M Physicians) seek a full-time academic plastic surgeon. This position will include clinical practice in the Twin Cities as well as academic responsibilities in teaching, research, and service.

    The Department of Surgery is a robust academic department comprised of 11 surgical divisions, and ranking #4 nationally in NIH funding. The Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery is led by Umar Choudry, MD - a recognized leader in academic medicine. Our surgeons provide expertise in all areas of plastic surgery and are dedicated to outstanding patient care, surgical innovation, and academic excellence.

    Position Highlights - General Plastic Surgery opportunity with emphasis on Breast, Wound Care, and General Reconstruction - Primary practice locations include M Health Fairview Clinics and Specialty Center – Maplewood, M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospital, and the Ambulatory Surgery Center in Maplewood, MN - Successful candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient clinical care and participate in the education of medical students, residents, and fellows

    Qualifications - MD or equivalent degree - Completion of an accredited ACGME Plastic Surgery residency and/or fellowship training program - BC/BE in Plastic Surgery - Microsurgical training is preferred - Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota license and DEA - Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, communication, collaboration, and commitment to academic surgery

    Pay Range: This is a common paymaster position that will have a combined salary with UMPhysicians commensurate with AAMC benchmarks for the specialty.  The salary range is $450,000 - $650,000 for full time.
