  • The Division of Plastic Surgery at Penn State Health is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Plastic Surgeon with fellowship training in Microsurgery to join our growing academic practice. This is an entry-level faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, ideal for candidates looking to launch their academic career. We are looking for a candidate with advanced training and proficiency in microsurgical breast reconstruction and lymphedema treatment. This position offers a unique opportunity to combine clinical excellence with academic pursuits in research and teaching.

    The Penn State Health Plastic Surgery team is known for high quality patient care of traumatic, oncologic and congenital conditions in patients of all ages, as well as the multidisciplinary Esteem Aesthetic Surgery Clinic. Penn State Health is an integrated academic health system serving patients and communities across 15 counties in central Pennsylvania. Our mission is to improve health through patient care, research, education and community outreach.  

    What we’re offering

    • Join a team of 9 plastic surgeons and 3 APPs
    • Provide the full spectrum of plastic and reconstructive surgery
    • Ability to focus on growth of microsurgical breast reconstruction and lymphedema care in the region.
    • Participate in education of our ACGME-accredited integrated plastic surgery residency program.
    • Engage in clinical or basic science research supported by a well-equipped laboratory and research staff.

    Requirements

    • MD, DO, or equivalent degree
    • BC/BE in Plastic Surgery with the completion of fellowship training in Microsurgery
    • Ability to acquire a license to practice in the State of Pennsylvania
    • Must be able to obtain valid federal and state narcotics certificates
    • A strong commitment to patient care, medical student and resident education, research/scholarly activity and an academic perspective on clinical care necessary
