Opportunity Highlights:
- Salary range: $320,000 - $390,000 per year
- Location: Jackson, Mississippi
- Position eligible for EDRP (Education Debt Reduction Program), offering up to $200,000 in student loan reimbursement for qualified candidates.
- Full-Time Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm including call coverage and weekend rounding as needed (Alternate schedules may be necessary to meet the needs of the organization
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret transesophageal echos.
- Interpret transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echos.
- Interpret: EKGs, Treadmill EKGs, Ambulatory EKGs, Rhythm strips, and Rhythm reports from Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices.
- Supervise and interpret Treadmill and Pharmacologic Stress EKGs.
- Perform elective and emergent cardioversion and defibrillation and TEE cardioversion.
- Perform and supervise cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
- Perform emergent transcutaneous and transvenous pacing.
- Perform Non OR emergency airway management.
- Inpatient Clinical Cardiology Teaching Rounds and Consultations in the ER, OR, ICU, Telemetry, or General Medicine units. Incidental supervision and triage of the appropriate use of telemetry.
- Review and accept or delegate requests for consultation.
- Serve as attending physician in the Cardiology Outpatient Clinic for ambulatory management of veterans with heart disease.
- Participate in Division and Department meetings CME, and VA continuing education and Quality Improvement activities.
- Complete a timely clinical note and encounter form (or workload capture) for each clinical encounter.
Preferred Experience:
- 3-5 years actively working as a General or Interventional Cardiologist
- Experience working in an academic setting
- Interest in Research
