About The Pediatric Neurosciences Program
The Department of Neurology at The University of Texas Dell Medical School (DMS), in conjunction with the UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s, is recruiting a third physician for our pediatric rehabilitation medicine (PRM) team and Pediatric Rehabilitation Center. The UT Health Austin Pediatric Neurosciences at Dell Children’s is a multidisciplinary program that encompasses child neurology, pediatric rehabilitation medicine (PRM), pediatric neurosurgery, pediatric neuropsychology, and pediatric neuro-ophthalmology. With two board-certified pediatric physiatrists, four experienced nurse practitioners, a lead programmatic therapist, a program coordinator, and a full complement of support staff, the Pediatric Rehabilitation Center offers comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children with disabilities. The hospital supports an inpatient rehabilitation program, and outpatient space is available in the adjoining 44,000 square foot neurosciences clinic within the Dell Children’s Specialty Pavilion.
The pediatric neurosciences program currently hosts a child neurology residency along with fellowships in pediatric epilepsy, pediatric headache, and pediatric neuropsychology. General PM&R residents train in the pediatric program, and we plan to add fellowships in pediatric rehabilitation medicine (PRM) and rehabilitation and pediatric neuromuscular disease.
Dell Children’s Medical Center is a 300-bed freestanding facility that features a level 1 pediatric trauma center, a level 4 neonatal intensive care unit, a level 4 epilepsy center, and Magnet recognition for nursing excellence.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, fellowship training in pediatric rehabilitation medicine and be eligible or board-certified in Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine. Candidates must be eligible for a faculty appointment at Dell Medical School - The University of Texas at Austin. Hiring is contingent upon obtaining a Texas medical license and the appropriate hospital privileges.
