Pathologist Opportunity - Dubuque, Iowa

DUBUQUE, IOWA (USA). MercyOne Health Group - Dubuque, Iowa is seeking a full-time board-certified/eligible pathologists trained in both anatomic and clinical pathology.

Part-time status will also be considered.

No specific subspecialty training is required; however, cytopathology training would be looked upon favorably.

A generous sign on bonus of $100k is currently being offered.

Located on the Mississippi River, Dubuque is a city with a population of approximately 60,000, and the hospital system serves a patient base of approximately 140,000.

Position Details:

The candidates would join another Pathologist and Pathologists Assistant who are colleagues of a collegial group of seven pathologists and two Pathologists' Assistants in a nearby city, Davenport, Iowa.

The pathologists oversee and provide medical directorship for two community hospitals, a large multispecialty medical clinic, and a rural access hospital in a nearby community.

The caseload includes approximately 14,000 surgical cases (mixture of biopsies and resections), 2000 non-GYN cytology cases, 8000 GYN cytology cases, and rare autopsies.

Radiologic guided fine-needle aspirations and EBUS cases are attended for adequacy/rapid interpretation.

No specific subspecialty training is required; however, cytopathology training would be looked upon favorably.

New graduates are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:

Must be BC/BE.

Have good communication and interpersonal skills and value good relationships with clinical colleagues.

A willingness to participate in the clinical lab management and hospital committees including tumor board.
