Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center and University Medical Center are seeking an accomplished physician leader to serve as Division Chief of Hematology and Oncology and Medical Director of the UMC TLC² Foundation Cancer Center.

This dual leadership opportunity is anchored by a new $125 million, 124,000-square-foot comprehensive cancer center that opened in April 2026. The center serves patients throughout West Texas and Eastern New Mexico and includes:

• 51 exam rooms and six procedure rooms • 41 adult infusion bays and dedicated pediatric infusion space • Two Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators • PET/CT and MRI imaging • Infusion and specialty pharmacies • Phase I-III clinical trial infrastructure • Fast Track and Symptom Management clinics • Integrative medicine services

The Division of Hematology and Oncology includes six faculty members and supports an ACGME-accredited fellowship program.

The Division Chief and Medical Director will:

• Provide strategic, clinical, academic and operational leadership • Grow a multidisciplinary adult and pediatric oncology program • Recruit, mentor and retain hematology and oncology faculty • Advance fellowship education and faculty development • Expand clinical trials, translational research and academic partnerships • Lead quality, accreditation and patient experience initiatives • Align TTUHSC’s academic mission with UMC’s clinical operations • Maintain an active clinical and teaching practice

QUALIFICATIONS

• MD or DO degree • ABMS board certification in Internal Medicine and Hematology and Oncology • At least five years of clinical practice • At least two years of clinical leadership experience • Academic medical center leadership experience preferred
