The Division of General Surgery, Section of Pediatric and Colorectal Reconstructive Surgery is seeking a pediatric surgeon with an interest in pediatric colorectal surgery to join our team of professionals who are committed to providing excellent care in a supportive environment.
Position Details:
- Responsible for an active clinical and surgical practice
- Providing education to medical students, surgery fellows and residents
- Rotate into general surgery call, with elective practice focused on colorectal surgery
- Academic appointment through the University of Missouri at Kansas City and the University of Kansas

About the Division of General Surgery
- A leading clinical, teaching, and research program
- Comprised of 8 full time pediatric surgeons and 15 advanced practice providers, delivering care for approximately 7000 clinical visits and performing more than 3000 surgical cases annually
- Oversees three fellowship programs, including Pediatric Surgery, Surgical Critical Care, and Surgical Scholar, as well as provides training for rotating general surgery residents.
- Provides Medical Leadership to Children’s Mercy Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Program (ACS), Burn Program, and Level 1 Children’s Surgery Program (ACS).
- The Children's Mercy Comprehensive Colorectal Center (CCC) provides the highest level of pediatric colorectal care. Our providers are nationally recognized by U.S. News & World Report for excellence. Children who we treat surgically receive the highest-level care possible through our accredited surgery center.
