Growing Inpatient Mental Health Center is hiring a Psychiatrist to work a 4- or 5-day workweek. No weekends. No Holidays. No after- hours on-call.
Average patient caseload: 20-25 patients. -Collaborative Team approach. Call me today, as this opportunity may not last long. Western Illinois location offering a foodie's paradise, a vibrant art scene, and a wine trail, located approximately 30 minutes outside of St. Louis and 20 minutes from the St. Louis International Airport.
Duties:
- Documentation of reasons for medication changes;
- Review of seclusion and restraints at least twice a month
- Provide relevant, thorough, and timely psychiatric evaluations within 24 hours of patient admission to the facility, 90-day report, fitness reports, NGRI reports before they come due.
- Perform unit psychiatric evaluations within one week (when the patient is transferred from another unit)
- Attend assigned committee meetings as available, or when unable to attend, read minutes of such meetings once distributed
- Testify in court regarding involuntary commitment, fitness to proceed, involuntary administration of medications, and other issues (as required)
- Meet at least monthly with assigned patients to review prescribed medications, explain reasons for the choice of medications, and to establish a treatment plan taking their concerns into consideration.
- Demonstrate competency by completing proficiency tests and objectives required by the facility and State licensing boards.
- Maintain awareness of the Department and Facility rules, policies & procedures as required
- Provide leadership in managing and treating patients assigned to your care.
- Participate in continuing education workshops and seminars to maintain age- and disability specific competency.
- Participate in the hospital's peer review program.
