The Millington Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) has an opening for a psychiatrist that offers a dual academic appointment with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). The CBOC is a part of the Department of Veterans Affairs and falls under the Memphis VA Medical Center. It's one of the largest of twelve community-based clinics within the Memphis VA clinical network.

The Memphis VA is a 1a complexity tertiary care VA healthcare system located in one of the fastest growing Veteran population regions in the United States. The main campus provides comprehensive care to almost 69,000 Veterans in a 52-county area of Western Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and Northeast Arkansas. It includes 236 inpatient beds with a 26-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit. It is a teaching hospital, providing a full range of patient care services, with state-of-the-art technology, as well as extensive education and research programs. Comprehensive primary, secondary, and tertiary health care is provided in vast areas of medicine, to include but not limited to cardiology, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, spinal cord injury, neurology, oncology, rheumatology, geriatrics, women's health, and dentistry.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Provide support for same-day access to mental health services for veterans in person and by telephone.
  • Ability to work with multiple disciplines and collaborate with mid-level providers consistent with licensure and credentialing.

  1. $250,000-$315,000
  2. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri: 8AM-4:30PM, Periodic On-call
  3. CME Reimbursement: Possible $2000 per year (Must be Board Certified)
  4. Malpractice Liability Protection with tail coverage

Requirements:

  1. MD/DO
  2. Residency/Fellowship: Psychiatry
  3. BE/EC in Psychiatry
  4. Eligible for a Faculty Appointment at UTHSC
  5. Full and unrestricted license from ANY state
  6. Current BLS/CPR
  7. US Citizenship
  8. Be proficient in the written and spoken use of the English language
